How-to

Connect Telegram

Get a Telegram message in a direct chat or a group every time a customer submits a booking.

Updated Sep 30, 2026

The Telegram integration sends a message to your Telegram chats for every new booking. It uses the ServiceReserve bot, so you don't need to create a bot of your own. You can send to a direct chat with the bot, to groups, or to both.

Connect a direct chat

  1. 1

    Turn on Telegram

In the sidebar, under Integrations, click Browse (or Manage). Switch Telegram on, then click Telegram to open its setup page.

  2. 2

    Click Add DM

In the Destinations card, click Add DM. Telegram opens in a new tab with the ServiceReserve bot.

  3. 3

    Tap Start

In Telegram, tap Start. The bot replies "Connected. You'll get a Telegram message here every time a new booking lands."

  4. 4

    Go back to ServiceReserve

Keep the setup page open. While it shows "Waiting for Telegram… leave this page open.", it checks for the new chat every few seconds for about two minutes. The chat then appears in the Destinations list with a DM badge.

The link the button opens is valid for 10 minutes and works once.

Add a group

  1. 1

    Click Add to group

In the Destinations card, click Add to group. Telegram opens in a new tab.

  2. 2

    Pick the group

Choose an existing group, or create one. Telegram adds the ServiceReserve bot to the group and posts the start command there.

  3. 3

    Confirm in ServiceReserve

The bot replies in the group. The group appears in Destinations with a Group badge.

Add as many chats as you need. Every booking is sent once to each chat in the list. After the first chat, the Add DM button reads Add another DM.

Send a test

Click Send test message. You see "Test message sent — check your Telegram chat." The bot sends "Test message — your Telegram integration is working." to the chat you added most recently. The test doesn't go to your other chats.

What each message contains

Each message starts with New booking request and lists every detail the booking has:

  • Name, email, phone, and company
  • Service address and category
  • Selected services, with quantity and price
  • Preferred date and time
  • Intake answers, including links to uploaded files
  • Total, source, marketing attribution, and the form name

Lines with no value are left out.

Check deliveries

The Recent activity card lists the last 50 alerts sent to your Telegram chats. Failed rows show the error Telegram returned.

Remove a chat or stop alerts

  • Remove one chat. Click Remove on its row and confirm. The bot stays in the chat, but ServiceReserve stops sending there. If you remove the last chat, the status goes back to setup needed.
  • Pause all alerts. Switch the toggle in the page header to Disabled. Your chats stay saved.

Troubleshooting

  • The bot says "That setup link is invalid or has already been used." Each link works once. Click Add DM or Add to group again to get a new one.
  • The bot says "That setup link expired." More than 10 minutes passed. Click the button again.
  • The chat doesn't appear in Destinations. The page stops checking after about two minutes. Reload the page.
  • The buttons are greyed out and the page says "Bot not configured on this server." Check that the page-header switch is Enabled. This message also shows while Telegram is paused.
  • Sends to one group fail. The bot was probably removed from that group. Click Remove on the group's row, then add it again with Add to group.
  • "You're using your own bot." Your workspace was set up with a bot you created yourself. Click Add DM to switch to the ServiceReserve bot. Your current chat keeps working until you do.
